Navigating the Future: Innovations and Sustainability in the Automotive Industry

In her keynote speech, Hildegard Müller will discuss how the EU’s ambitious climate targets in the mobility sector can be achieved. On the one hand, this requires a rapid ramp-up of electromobility throughout the EU with a clear focus on the development of charging infrastructure in all member states. Hydrogen will play a special role with regard to commercial vehicles, so the development of a Europe-wide hydrogen station infrastructure is also needed. On the other hand, however, it also requires other technology solutions that address the existing fleet, such as synthetic fuels. In addition, the automotive industry is focusing on digitalization and sees great opportunities in its use. Ms. Müller will further argue that the EU needs a stronger industrial policy focus to ensure that Europe can continue to compete internationally as a business location in the future. This topic must be a central topic on the road to the upcoming European elections
